Butter bread slices. Alternate layers of bread slices, ham and cheese. End with cheese on top.
Mix milk with eggs, salt, pepper, nutmeg and mustard and pour over layers. Allow to stand 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Bake in preheated oven to 325°F (170°C) for 50 to 60 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Serve.
