    GOLDEN CHICKEN WINGS

   Ingredients :

2 ¼ lb (1 k) chicken wings
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup tomato sauce (ketchup)
1 tablespoon vinegar
½ teaspoon mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon ground ají (chili)
½ teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon thyme
½ teaspoon crushed garlic
1 tablespoon grated onion
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon basil leaves, finely chopped
Salt
Pepper

   Preparation:

Rinse chicken wings and pat them dry. Cut off and discard wing tips. Arrange the chicken pieces in a single layer in an ungreased baking pan.

Bake in 375º F (190° C) oven for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile in a medium sauce pan combine the rest of ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat. Simmer uncovered for two minutes stirring occasionally.

Turn wings and pour half of sauce over them. Bake for 20 minutes more.

Turn wings again and pour half of remaining sauce. Bake for 10 minutes more until golden.

Transfer hot chicken wings to a serving platter. Serve with remaining sauce in a sauceboat.
