Heat oil in a medium pan and add green onion. Cook onion until golden, stirring, 15 to 20 minutes.
Combine mayonnaise with sour cream and add blue cheese. Mix well until creamy and soft. Add green onion, nuts and combine. Season with salt and pepper.
Refrigerate 2 hours.
Serve dip with melba toasts or toasts made from pita bread.
Yields: 2 ½ cup approximately
