Line the bottom of a previously greased baking dish ( 9x13 in/ 18x26 cm) with half of the cubed bread.
Sprinkle over with ham, the Cheddar and Edam or gouda cheese. Cover with remaining bread.
Beat eggs with milk, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Pour evenly over bread. Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
Combine crushed corn flakes and melted butter and spread evenly.
Bake in preheated oven to 375°F (190°C) for 40 minutes or until hot and golden brown. Remove from the oven and let stand 5 minutes before serving.
