MEAT LOAF ORIENTAL STYLE   
  Ingredients :
    1 ˝ lb (680 g) ground beef
    ˝ kb (225 g ) ground pork
    3 slices of bread, cut in small pieces
    2 eggs lightly beaten
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1 garlic clove, finely chopped
    2 celery stalks, finely chopped
    2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    3 tablespoons soy sauce
    ˝ tablespoon minced fresh ginger
    2 tablespoons hoisin sauce (oriental markets)
    Salt
    ˝ cup hoisin sauce
    2 tablespoons ketchup

  Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Heat oil in a medium size skillet and sauté onion with celery and garlic. Cook until tender. Transfer to a large bowl.

Add ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, eggs and mix. Season with 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce, ˝ tablespoon ginger and salt.

Transfer mixture to a 2 quart rectangular shallow baking pan. Bake in oven for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and drain grease from pan.

Combine ˝ cup hoisin sauce with 2 tablespoons ketchup and spread over meatloaf. Return to oven and bake for 20 minutes more.

Remove from oven and let meatloaf rest 5 minutes.

Serve with white rice and steamed vegetables.
