CRAB AND CHEESE LOAF
Ingredients :
1 cup crab or trout meat (not smoked)
1 cup diced celery
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon mustard
¼ teaspoon salt
12 thin white bread slices, no crust
8 slice, American cheese
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Preparation:
Beat eggs, add milk and Worcestershire sauce. Reserve.
Line the bottom of a buttered baking dich with 6 slices of bread.
Soak with 1/3 of the eggs and milk mixture.
Combine crab meat and celery. Add mayonnaise and mustard. Season with salt. Spread on bread slices.
Cover with cheese slices and top with remaining bread slices.
Pour rest of milk mixture on top, allowing it to soak.
Cover with aluminum foil and let stand for 2 hours. Bake in moderate oven 325º F (160º C), for 25 minutes. Remove foil and broil for a few minutes or until golden.
