Beat eggs with sugar until thick and light lemon colored.Remove from mixer and fold in sifted flour.Gradually add heavy cream.
Pour into a previously greased shallow square glass mold. Place greased parchment paper on the bottom to unmold easier. Bake in preheated oven 350°F (180°C) for approximately 30 minutes.Remove from oven and cool on rack. Invert the cake onto cake platter.
Optional:
7 tablespoons brown sugar3 – 4 apples, peeled, cored and cut in thin slices1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
Sprinkle 4 tablespoons sugar over bottom of greased mold.Arrange apple slices on top, overlapping them slightly.Pour cake batter and bake. Invert onto cake platter when cool.
