Melt butter on top of a double boiler with simmering water. Add cocoa and combine. Turn the heat off and stir in sugar. Transfer mixture to a bowl and add eggs. Mix to combine with a wooden spoon.
Sift flour with salt over mixture and mix until all ingredients are combined. Stir in pecans.
Butter and flour a rectangular ovenproof mold. Transfer mixture to the bowl and bake in a preheated moderate oven to 350°F (180°C) for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from the oven, cut in squares and dust confectioners sugar over brownies.
